This Diary will update everytime I go to the track. To get you into the mood I'll talk to you a bit about my car's evolution and what a track day looks like.
My first modification was to install strut bars in my 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer ES (in the front and in the back). This simple and cheap modification helped a lot for tortional rigidity making my car a little more neutral in corner entry.
The second mod done was the installation of a RRM Cold Air Intake. It makes the car a bit faster out of the apex but won't shave full seconds to a lap. (I'm realistic...)
With this setup, last year, I managed to get around the 1.2km track in 56 seconds.
Un-proud of this time and my 4season tires (That got quite a beating after 15 laps), I decided to invest a little more :)
I got new Rota wheels with General's best tires (Exclaim UHP) and what a change!
In the last venue of the year, I managed to shave 2 seconds from my time!
Now a winter's past and we finally begun this season with success!
The same setup (A winter older) helped me get 2 seconds faster!
Next time I should have new brakes and should shave another 1-2 seconds :-D I'll keep you updated for this.
PS: Next posts won't be so long....
PPS: I Got a new helmet, don't worry.....I'll make a post about it later ;-)
