How to blow a turbo

http://www.canadiandrifting.com/DesktopModules/UltraVideoGallery/UltraVideoGallery.swf?vId=719&portalId=0

Hello everyone,

Today i'm gonna show you the easiest and best way to blow a turbo. Poor
t25.

So i got the car tuned on thursday the 14th of august 2008.
Everything went well even tho one of my coilpack was fucked. It couldn't deliver the ignition in time so i had fuel cut.

I got a poor 220whp:( and 230 pound of torque at 15 psi. (I got frount mount intercooler, denso 280lph fuel pump, 444cc injectors, boost controller)enough to be making around 270 280 at the wheel

So i get to the drift track on sunday the 17th, almost no car was present, what a chance!!! :-)

We start drifting on the ear layout. no spin out pretty much all the drift was linked. i was working on my line to get the fastest line.

Then the last run came :S.

One of my piping from my intercooler disconnect, making the car engine shut down. Got into the pit, reassembled my piping then i roll a little bit see how it feels.

When i was going to get boost the car had less power and seem to be choking(could not get any boost).

Thats when i knew the turbo was fucked:(

Now i am getting a gt2871r duall ball bearing turbo, able to withstand 26 psi and up to 450hp.

i am looking to get 320 to 350 at the wheel

TIME TO BEAT : 54.91
NEW MARK : 52.97

This Diary will update everytime I go to the track. To get you into the mood I'll talk to you a bit about my car's evolution and what a track day looks like.

My first modification was to install strut bars in my 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer ES (in the front and in the back). This simple and cheap modification helped a lot for tortional rigidity making my car a little more neutral in corner entry.

The second mod done was the installation of a RRM Cold Air Intake. It makes the car a bit faster out of the apex but won't shave full seconds to a lap. (I'm realistic...)

With this setup, last year, I managed to get around the 1.2km track in 56 seconds.

Un-proud of this time and my 4season tires (That got quite a beating after 15 laps), I decided to invest a little more :)

I got new Rota wheels with General's best tires (Exclaim UHP) and what a change!
In the last venue of the year, I managed to shave 2 seconds from my time!

Now a winter's past and we finally begun this season with success!

The same setup (A winter older) helped me get 2 seconds faster!

Next time I should have new brakes and should shave another 1-2 seconds :-D I'll keep you updated for this.

PS: Next posts won't be so long....

PPS: I Got a new helmet, don't worry.....I'll make a post about it later ;-)

Incredible 290KM/H Nascar crash!

It's a good thing the FIA got more secure rules for our favorite 4 wheeled sport. That guy must have hist his pants!

Crazy little Fiat!

Wow, look at this guy!

I don't have much info, but he reversed his engine and transmission to create a damn dangerous-to-drive vehicule!
